Prairie Star is a light green grape that has a nice flavour with good balance of sweetness and acidity. Thick skin.  It is a quality table grape and also makes very flavourful juices. The vine is a French/American hybrid developed in 1980 by Elmer Swenson and released around 2000. It is moderately productive and produces grapes on long, loose clusters. Prairie Star is a vigorous grower and has significant disease resistance other than a susceptibility to Anthracnose. It is self-fertile and hardy to -40 C.
